Bronze Resin
Bronze resin is a composite material used to create sculptures by mixing bronze powder with a resin and applying it to a mold.
Bronze resin sculptures are less expensive than solid bronze sculptures, but they still have a similar look and feel. They are frost proof but not shatter proof.

The Acrobats by John Robinson
£72,000 inc VATThis iconic sculpture, arguably John???s most well-known and acclaimed piece was originally conceived during a trip to Greece in the 1970???s. Based on the original Olympian athletes dating back to the 8th century BC in ancient Greece, John started with a 16inch bronze maquette, which he then scaled up to a monumental scale. Being very practical, he ingeniously made a joint on the wrist of the upper acrobat, which is reinforced with a steel rod, making transport and erection relatively simple. The first cast was mounted at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Maui, Hawaii. There are another 7 examples around the world, one of which is located outside the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra, Australia.

“Twenty years ago whilst on holiday in Cypress , I was beach combing near Aphrodite’s Rock, when I came by these 3 small flints no bigger than 6′ each high. I was mesmerized by their captured movement of Dance, like they had been three beings that had been turned to stone, but continue to perfuse a sense of dance! Had they upset the legendary Aphrodite the goddess of love, who knows! The opportunity came to turn these little magical stones into large form sculptures and give them the presence that they deserve! Aphrodite’s Dancing Stones.”

Andrew Sinclair
Pre-Hysteric by Andrew Sinclair
£34,800 inc VATThis 11-foot, bronze resin, surreal creation depicts a nude rider aboard a dinosaur.
And what inspired this fantasy piece? In the artists words:
“Sadly or gladly, I never grew out of my fascination for dinosaurs and promised myself that one day I would sculpt one. During a brief respite in my usual busy routine I realized this ambition and sculpted a rather obscure dinosaur called a Struthiomimus; a very gracile and elegant creature that is popularly known as an ???Ostrich mimic???. Having sculpted the extinct creature came the question of ‘What to do with it now?’. After some thought the bizarre idea of putting a lady riding upon it, in a sense of panic, came to mind. It makes a very strange, humorous and surreal sculpture. The technical aspect of actually making the sculpture stand is considerable, as the supporting leg is so thin but it is this that helps make the sculpture so full of movement.”
